Weight Loss and Nutrition Counseling

Weight Loss and Nutrition Counseling in Savannah

Dr. Paul S. Bradley is Savannah’s weight loss expert. He and his team know that the only way we generally lose weight and keep it off is when we are supported every step of the way. At Savii Health, we offer weight loss and nutrition counseling, as well as medical weight loss in Savannah.

We have all heard about the obesity crisis in America and specifically in the South, but most of us have just 10 or 20 pounds that we struggle with. At Savii Health, our methods are safe, easy, and affordable, and for most our services will be covered by insurance. We are focused on weight loss and nutrition counseling that can help you achieve your goals without the risks and expense associated with fad diets.

Losing just 10 pounds can make an important difference for your health. Indeed, recent events have reminded us that those extra pounds make us more vulnerable to viral infection, not to mention heart attacks and heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

SAVANNAH WEIGHT LOSS EXPERT

For over 30 years now, Dr. Paul S. Bradley has been one of our nation’s foremost researchers in the field of obesity, weight loss, and weight management. A graduate of Tulane University and the Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Bradley is also Professor of Internal Medicine at Mercer University’s School of Medicine.

In addition to his medical credentials, Dr. Bradley was Ruby Gettinger’s physician, appearing on the first season of Style Network’s The Ruby Show. He also founded OurSkinny, which for over ten years helped tens of thousands of people from coast to coast lose weight and keep it off. (Costly changes in the shipping industry ended that program, unfortunately, but the same principles continue to guide our practice.)

As Dr. Bradley often says, the key to sustained success is medical weight loss and oversight by credentialed practitioners. Only nutritional counseling and ongoing medical support will help you to avoid “yo-yo” weight gain we see in patients who chase the latest fad diets or, worse, who receive questionable treatments from non-licensed providers.

CONVENIENT EFFECTIVE AND AFFORDABLE

For most patients, your employer-sponsored or other health insurance will pay for the initial, follow-up consultations, and any appetite suppressants, hormone treatments, and/or other weight loss medications that your provider might recommend as we work with you toward your goals.

Common medical weight loss options include:

  • Phentermine
  • Qysimia
  • Saxenda

Experience has taught us that medications are not enough and should be administered ONLY as part of a program of nutritional counseling and exercise. For this, our team of experts will be with you every step of the way, providing weight loss and nutrition counseling, via periodic check-ins (virtual or in-office).

If you are a candidate, we may make referrals to physical therapists, personal trainers, and/or other providers we recommend, and we can provide advice and referrals for both invasive (gastric bypass, reserved for more extreme situations) and noninvasive fat reduction and body contouring treatments for patients with accelerated timelines.

The goal, as ever, is to help you lose weight safely, so that you can profit of the many benefits weight loss. These benefits include increased energy, lowered blood pressure, improved cholesterol and triglycerides, improved breathing, decreased stress on joints, and improved control of type 2 diabetes and other weight-related medical conditions.
